DESCRIPTION

|
As soon as you arrive at the Christian S Stahly-Olde Buffalo Inn, you can tell your visit will be restful and peaceable. Set on 2 1/2 acres, the property is picturesque with its majestic 10,000 square feet red banked barn, red brick sidewalks, traditional windmill, all enclosed by a classic white wooden picket fence. The history of the Inn extends over 160 year period. Originally built in 1840 by a pioneer farmer, the house precedes the establishment of Nappanee in 1874. Today the original farmhouse still exists, after having endured restorations three decades ago to preserve its historical character. Additional rooms were constructed to surround the original part of the house. Downstairs the original basement was transferred into a reproduction of a tavern in Williamsburg, VA. There are seven rooms all with private baths. Three rooms and one suite on the first floor and two rooms and one suite on the second floor.
