Die Heimat has been used as an inn for travelers since 1858. Located in the village of Homestead, one of the original seven villages of the Amana Colonies (the number one tourist destination in the state of Iowa.)
Die Heimat is much the same as it has always been. The many repeat guests enjoy the Amana walnut and cherry furniture and the rooms decorated in the simple, Amana style. Die Heimat is very much into keeping with Amana traditions; such as "Amana-blue" walls and the Amana glider swing in the yard for the guest's enjoyment.
Eighteen different rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, television, and beautifully furnished with Amana furniture. Full hot breakfast is served daily (food is prepared at local restaurant).
