The Gateway Lodge Bed and Breakfast in the Catskill Mountains is a European style inn situated on over three scenic acres overlooking Belleayre Mountain. It consists of seven tastefully decorated rooms and a spacious two bedroom suite, patio, deck and a great room with wood burning stove.
The Gateway is located in Highmount adjacent to the highest ski peak in the Catskills where, in the summer months, the Belleayre Mountain Conservatory provides an outstanding summer music program. The white sand beach of Pine Hill Lake is minutes away. Other summer activities include tubing, hiking, fishing, and exploring quaint mountain hamlets. Autumn is a joy for the sheer beauty nature creates. The winter months offer ski packages at Belleayre, and spring brings new life to the mountains.
The house is 5,000 square feet and sits on 3+ beautiful and very private acres on a dead end cul de sac with a double garage and a planting shed above the garden. The owners quarters comprise the entire 3rd floor - kitchenette, full bath, large room overlooking the mt, large bedroom/office and one interior room. Large storage spaces are in the side eves and an attic above. A fire escape provides a rear exit/entrance to the living area. On the 2nd floor are two family suites (one of which can also be used as two seperate guest rooms) and 3 guest rooms. Two additional rooms are on the first floor. Also on the ground floor is a great room with woodburner, an adjacent sitting room, a large L shaped dining area overlooking the ski slopees, a bar area, foyer, laundry room and large kitchen. There are 8 full bathrooms, a full basement and 4 exterior doors. There is a gravel/grass parking lot near the main entrance and a circular drive with room for additional cars. The grounds are perfect for weddings, rehearsal dinners and other special occasions. The Gateway is 2 hours and 20 minutes from midtown Manhattan and 45 minutes from the first capital of NY - Kingston. Woodstock, a popular tourist destination is approx. 20 miles East. Cooperstown is approx 70 minutes West.
