| DESCRIPTION | |
This antique-filled historic home is a treasure to Sampson County and Clinton, NC - recently named An All-American City. As a B&B, the Inn offers first rate accommodations - each room has a private bath, microwave, mini-fridge, TV and VCR. For those relocating to the area, the house becomes a haven during the transition. The interior features detailed woodwork and original wallpaper, including a hand painted paper mural of North Carolina's Orton Plantation. The outside displays soaring columns and detailed soffits on the porches.
A full breakfast for overnight guests is offered each morning. In addition, the butler's pantry and large kitchen have been renovated to allow the staff to cater any event from dinner for 2 to a wedding reception for 600 (our average wedding guests attendance is 240). The butler's pantry, kitchen and upstairs lobby have granite countertops with stainless sinks. Off the kitchen is a room with a 3-door commercial refrigerator, added storage and a 3rd sink for food preparation.
Clients hosting business meetings or seminars are assured privacy during the presentation of information. The oversized gazebo in the side yard is a gracious setting for the exchange of wedding vows or for the first dance following the vows. The wrap around porch provides a relaxing spot for those staying at the Inn or for added entertainment space. The upper porch is a favorite spot for brides to toss their bouquets - offering a great photo opportunity.
The library gives event guests a 2nd entrance to the front porch. Because of private access to the office and kitchen, it can also provide a place for the owners to watch TV or play cards without interrupting guests. It can also be used as the owner's bedroom (with full bath). That plan returns all 4 rooms upstairs to accommodate guests.
The parlor was once used as a bedroom and can be easily changed back to a private bedroom, adding 5th guestroom that has ground floor access.
ASK HOW THE INN HAS BEEN OPERATED WITH 6 GUEST ROOMS!!
The dining room easily seats 22. Leaded glass windows, a coffer ceiling, tall wainscoting and a dish rail for displaying cranberry glass items(pieces collected by the original owners)give the room a feeling of elegance.
The living room features an organ, original to the house, that was produced in Michigan in the late 1800s. It is an exquisite piece of furniture that offers a beautiful sound when played - and a work out for your legs!
The office and storage room offer generous space for document/supply storage and 2 work areas. A back staircase leads to the laundry room with additional storage. It also provides access to the upstairs guest rooms without going through the public rooms.
A private, fenced area with an in-ground pool, hot tub and plenty of room for the owners to relax or entertain can be accessed from the kitchen and office. The grounds include a 2 car garage, a 1916 "barn" for grounds maintenance equipment and an outbuilding housing the well and pump for the pool plus more storage space.
Seller offers a turn-key operation including furniture and equipment for operation of the B&B and the Catering Division, credit card terminal, customer contacts, reservations, web domain valid through 2013 and toll-free telephone number that clients have used for over 15 years. Current owners are willing to provide training and/or consulting during the transition and for any pre-booked events. With your formal offer, you will have access to a detailed inventory of all furnishings / equipment / supplies and confidential financials.
