INFORMATION ABOUT VASHON ISLAND
|

Vashon Island is located 30 minutes from Seattle, providing visitors with
a rural setting close to big city attractions. The only way on and off the
island is a breathtakingly beautiful ferry ride, with views of other
islands as well as the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. The island boasts a
strong arts community with art galleries, quaint shops, a farmer's market,
antique shops and restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the
wonderful water and mountain views, golfing, beach combing, kayaking and
more. Miles of lightly traveled, pine edged country roads make bicycling
and walking popular activities. One of the better beach walks is at the
historic Point Robinson Lighthouse, with views of Mt. Rainier and Seattle.
Lisabuela Beach on the west side is ideal for watching the sunset over the
water.
